The Doheny Blues Festival has grown to become one of the largest and most prestigious festivals of its kind in the world. Part of its popularity comes from the fact that the festival organizers try very hard to mix in a variety of roots and blues influenced styles of music in with actual blues music. The blues music that is presented is often first rate. Another element of this festival's success stems from its stunning location in a state park that sits at the confluence of a long crescent shaped beach on the Pacific Ocean and a yacht harbor.
